Personal Branding Workshops in the UK

Our personal branding workshops are a full or half day for a team from one UK organisation, at your office, our Leeds studio or online. A full day costs £1,800 and a half day £1,200, for up to six people, excluding VAT. Each person leaves with a written personal brand statement, a content plan and a networking plan.

I run them with my co-director Will Ockenden, and we’ve both built our own online brand the slow way, through blogs, social media and a podcast. So the day is about what works for someone with a day job and limited time.

Why is personal branding important?

It helps you establish your reputation:

When you have a strong personal brand, people know who you are, what you stand for, and what your values are. This can be especially important if you are looking to build a career path or grow your business.

Personal branding can help you build trust with your audience:

When people know who you are and what you stand for, they are more likely to trust you and believe in what you have to say. This can be especially important if you are in a field where credibility and trust are key factors, such as finance, law or medicine.

Personal branding helps people remember you:

People scroll past most of what they see online. A clear personal brand gets you remembered, because it positions you as an expert in your field, brings in clients or customers and builds your reputation over time.

Personal branding can help you build your network:

When people know who you are and what you stand for, they are more likely to want to work with you or collaborate with you. This can be especially important if you are looking to build a career or reach stakeholders.

Our Personal Branding Training Services

Defining Your Personal Brand:

We start by working out what you’re good at, what you care about and what people already come to you for. By the end of the morning you’ll have a short personal brand statement written in your own words.

Building Your Online Presence:

A strong online presence is now part of any personal brand, because it’s often the first place people check you out. We help you create a professional online presence that reflects your personal brand and shows your skills and expertise.

Developing Your Professional Network:

A personal brand grows through the people who know you, from industry groups to other founders. We’ll help you plan who to connect with, where to find them and what to say first, so your network grows on purpose.

Creating Compelling Content:

Your content is how most people will meet your personal brand. We’ll help you plan what to post, how often and in what format, whether that’s short posts, articles or interviews with specialists in your field.

Enhancing Your Personal Brand:

A personal brand is never finished, so the day ends with a plan for what you’ll post and when. After the workshop you get four weeks of post-course support: call us with a question about the content, or about putting your personal branding strategy into practice.

What happens on the day?

A typical full day, drafted around what the workshop covers (times can move to suit you):

  • 9.30am: What people already think of you. We look at how each person comes across online now.
  • 10.15am: Writing your personal brand statement. Each person works out what they’re good at and what they want to be known for, then writes it down.
  • 11.15am: A short break for coffee.
  • 11.30am: Fixing your online presence. We work on a professional online presence that matches the brand statement.
  • 12.30pm: We stop for lunch.
  • 1.15pm: Planning your content. What to post, how often and in what format, on the two or three channels that suit each person.
  • 2.30pm: Turning the plan into content, whether that’s short posts, articles or interviews.
  • 3.15pm: Building your network on purpose. Who to connect with, where to find them and what to say first.
  • 4.00pm: Keeping it going. The tools that save time, a simple plan for the next month, and how the four weeks of post-course support work.
  • 4.30pm: We finish for the day.

The half day runs from 9.30am to 1pm and covers the first four parts: what people think of you now, the brand statement, your online presence and a content plan.

Who is the course for?

The workshop is for teams from one organisation whose people represent the business in public: leaders, founders, spokespeople, senior staff and anyone stepping into a more public role, such as a new director. Organisations book the workshop for their own team.

Why Choose Us?

We teach personal branding because we’ve had to build our own. As well as having over 45 years of experience in the comms industry between us, Will and I have each built an established personal brand through blogs and social media. More recently, my podcast, Embracing Marketing Mistakes, reached number 1 in the Apple Podcasts marketing chart, which still surprises me.

Since 2009 we’ve run more than 400 courses and workshops, and our social media training clients include household brands like Sealy, Lloyds Pharmacy and Engie. This workshop is newer, so there are no testimonials for it yet. Our training as a whole has 199 Google reviews, rated Excellent, and I would rather point you to those than borrow praise meant for another course.

If you’re interested in a workshop, contact us and we’ll talk through what you want from the day.

How much does the training cost?

A full-day workshop costs £1,800 and a half day costs £1,200, for up to six people from your organisation, excluding VAT. The half day keeps the brand statement, the profile review and the content plan; the full day adds turning the plan into content, networking and the tools.

Part of our PR and reputation training, alongside every social media course we run and our training formats. Last reviewed October 2026.

How is the training carried out?

We offer both in-person and online training options to suit your needs and schedule.

Our latest social media training work

  • LinkedIn: If you’re looking to establish yourself as a professional, LinkedIn is the platform for you. It’s a great place to showcase your skills and experience, connect with other professionals in your industry, and share thought leadership content.
  • Instagram: Instagram is a visual platform that’s perfect for showcasing your personal brand through photos and videos. Especially useful for influencers, it’s a great way to share your personality and connect with your audience on a more personal level.
  • X (formerly Twitter): X suits short, quick posts. Use it to share opinions, reply to people in your industry and join the conversations they’re already having.
  • Facebook: Facebook is the largest social media platform in the world, and it offers a wide range of tools for personal branding. You can create a personal profile or a business page, share content, engage with your audience, and even run ads to promote your brand.
  • YouTube: If you’re comfortable in front of the camera, YouTube is a great platform for building your personal brand through video content. We can create educational videos, vlogs, or even a series that showcases your expertise.
  • TikTok: TikTok is the newest of the big platforms. Short videos that teach one thing well tend to do best there.

There are plenty of channels to choose from, and you don’t need all of them. On the day we’ll pick the two or three that suit you and plan what you’ll post on each.

There’s no single agreed list, and each writer’s seven differ a little. Most versions include knowing yourself, your values, your audience, your story, being consistent, being visible and being authentic. On the workshop we turn those into one written brand statement you can actually use.

The usual version says people need about three exposures to notice you, seven to remember you and around 27 before they trust you. Another version talks about three seconds, seven seconds and 27 words. Neither is science, but both make the same point: be consistent and turn up often.

Lists vary by source, but they usually include clarity, consistency, credibility, connection and character. For a personal brand, clarity and consistency matter most, because people need to know what you stand for before anything else lands.

It’s a practical training day rather than a qualification, and it isn’t accredited. Every attendee gets a certificate of attendance.
