AI-Powered Marketing and PR: Navigating the Future of Creativity and Communication

As a professional in the marketing and PR industry, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is already starting to revolutionise our field, offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance creativity, streamline content creation, and improve crisis communications. However, this rapid advancement has also brought about significant ethical and legal concerns, requiring us to tread carefully and responsibly. This caused me and Will to say – we should discuss this on the podcast and highlight some of the things that are good and some of the things we should maybe be considering. AI has emerged as a powerful ... Read more

My freelance journey and how I almost lost everything – Socially Unacceptable Podcast

We have had a busy time in PPR HQ recently recording quite a lot of new podcasts and today I’m thrilled to share a captivating episode where I had the privilege of sitting down with the brilliant Paul Sutton. Now I have known Paul for well over a decade and he has a whopping two decades of digital marketing expertise under his belt. He is not just a successful PR freelancer (PR Freelancer of the Year) but he was also the mastermind behind a luxury pet accessories business that he has never talked openly about before now. First and foremost, ... Read more

Boosting Agency Performance With Founder of OMG Center, Chris Simmance

In our most recent podcast, we had a discussion with Chris Simmance, the Founder of the OMG Center. The purpose of the Centre according to Chris is to accelerate the expansion of digital companies through consultancy, mentorship, training, and support. He was also the Chairman at Optus Digital, where he constructed a search-based digital agency and grew the agency to offices in London and Manchester. He had a fascinating story to tell about this. Chris had an unsuccessful stint working in travel sales for a ski resort, but he was determined to push himself and he taught himself SEO. This ... Read more

Adding the Super Power of AI to Marketing: A Game-Changer for Marketers

I would like to start by thanking my good friend Andrew Bruce-Smith for coming on the podcast and sharing his thoughts. He had some fascinating stories about AI and an even better story about his biggest mistake in his job which was hilarious. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionised the marketing landscape, presenting marketers with new opportunities to enhance their strategies and deliver more personalised experiences to their audience. In this post, I will do my best to explore the ways in which AI is reshaping the world of marketing and how marketers can leverage its full potential to drive success. ... Read more

Video: Do you worry about your marketing clients catching the train to London?

It’s been a busy week and this has made me smile this morning. This video is part of a wider campaign from one of our clients uBer – the video takes a humorous angle on why marketers sometimes think it’s far safer to go with a London agency. I know I have talked about this a lot but although there are lots of brilliant companies in London there are also plenty of great quality PR, marketing, content and creative agencies outside of the M25 and this video shows you that in a far more entertaining way than I can write. I love ... Read more

The power of personalisation and Thomas Cook’s Brochure Star

I was contacted this week by the outreach team at Thomas Cook a bout its new user-generated content campaign called Be a Brochure Star as they thought I would be interested. I thought it was a nice and simple idea where the brand gives its customers the opportunity to personalise their very own holiday brochure. The user can easily upload their holiday snaps, personalised captions and a chosen colour scheme giving people the control to their own brochure. I remember as a kid always wondering who the people were in the pictures and now it could be you. There can be no ... Read more

Is it worthwhile targeting marketing and PR bloggers for your outreach campaigns?

I have read an interesting post earlier this week about Dave Fleet, a public relations professional based in Toronto, who was recently targeted by Molson a beer company who were looking to hold an event with free beer readily available. Dave says the reason why Molson approached him was as they put it “to get to know folks in this space”. I actually think that’s very honest as there are a lot of companies and brands who don’t know anyone in the social media world and honesty is always the best policy. He describes their approach as working for the ... Read more
