Our video campaign to help Goldsmiths this Christmas

This post was originally posted on the Prohibition blog but I felt it would be useful to share this on my own blog too. So a couple of weeks ago all of the chatter online (apart from Brexit) was all about the latest John Lewis advert and a little boy called Reg buying a new piano. I don’t think they sell Pianos but I liked it, all the same, despite it being a very different approach for them this year. So this week we are delighted to reveal our own video-led Christmas campaign for our client and leading high-street jeweller ... Read more

Video – Prohibition Show Reel of 2018

The last twelve months at Prohibition have been particularly busy, with the team delivering some truly stunning work, much of which we will be sharing this Christmas but we felt we weren’t really sharing a lot of the content we were producing. So we wanted to create a short sharp piece of blatant self-promotion that would bring our busy year to life. This short clip hopefully does that – well-done team, there are some great campaigns in here and you should all be very proud.

Video: Do you worry about your marketing clients catching the train to London?

It’s been a busy week and this has made me smile this morning. This video is part of a wider campaign from one of our clients uBer – the video takes a humorous angle on why marketers sometimes think it’s far safer to go with a London agency. I know I have talked about this a lot but although there are lots of brilliant companies in London there are also plenty of great quality PR, marketing, content and creative agencies outside of the M25 and this video shows you that in a far more entertaining way than I can write. I love ... Read more

UK social spend increases 38% to £1.73bn with video now accounting for 29% of all online advertising

All of us working in social media and digital have noticed the huge increase in social video and it seems the advertising budgets have shifted towards video more than anything else. The increasing amount of short video clips, TV programmes and films people watch on mobiles helped UK internet advertising grow at its fastest rate for nine years, crossing the £10 billion threshold for the first time. The amount UK companies spent on internet advertising rose 17.3pc¹ year-on-year to £10.3bn in 2016, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau UK / PwC Digital Adspend report. Mobile video ads were the fastest-growing ... Read more

The making of the new augmented Gruffalo Spotter app – Great for fun with the kids

I love this idea, if you are parent like me frantically searching for outdoor activities to keep your kids entertained. You will most definitely know who the Gruffalo is – he has terrible teeth in his terrible jaws etc. Well in the first development of its kind, Magic Light Pictures and Forestry Commission England bring its characters to life in the forest with a rather cool augmented reality app. Click here to find your nearest trail to test it out, for my Northern readers – there is a nice one in Dalby Forrest that I will be trying out soon. ... Meadowhall Sharing The Valentine’s Love (video)

Here is a nice little campaign we have been helping with recently. The campaign is all about spreading the love in order to get people to celebrate Valentines Day over at Meadowhall in Sheffield. This campaign is a nice touchy feely one as most Valentines campaigns are. It involved a strong media partnership with a radio station and a live stunt that took place over Valentines weekend.

Video of the week: Don’t Panic Man Campaign!

This is a clever little idea from KFC in Romania, the concept is you get free KFC whenever your social media sites go offline. I think the video is meant to highlight how much we depend on them these days, it is a clever piece of fun but they have also made a dedicated website, where users can register their details so whenever your social media is down you can get a free meal. I love the concept and quite a well-executed video as well. Nice work KFC.

Mission Impossible Campaign For new Movie – Video

I love this stunt to help generate buzz and awareness of the new Mission Impossible film ROGUE NATION. An agency transformed the Hollywood and Highland mall into an obstacle course, where contestants could win real tickets to the world premiere in Vienna. It even ran on “America’s Got Talent” a couple weeks before the film opened. Simon Pegg is seen challenging passers by in true MI style to run a gauntlet of tests and the whole thing was captured on video. Great work, and brilliant fun by the looks of it. All they needed was the travellator from Gladiators.

PR Stunt of the Week: Samsung “The Safety Truck”

You know I love a clever idea or quirky campaign. Well this week I was sent this little beauty and I love the simplicity of it. This initiative was created by Leo Burnett from Buenos Aires for Samsung’s Argentinian corporate office to promote road safety, what better way to demonstrate Samsung’s high definition TV screens and road safety than simply combining the two to create a truck that you can see right through? Absolute genius and it makes for a great video – I think they could have come up with a snappier name for the truck though.

TENA Men Control Video challenges stigma of Incontinence in new campaign

TENA Men outreached its latest campaign to me today and I had to share it as it made me smile. The new amusing video has been created to challenge the stigma of incontinence using the super suave Stirling Gravitas, you can follow him @S_Gravitas. The Twitter feed needs polishing a bit, as it only has three tweets and it does not have a background and the image looks stretched but they can sort that out I am sure. If I were them I would have gone to town on the social media and given him as much personality as he has in the ... Read more
