Burger King sponsors Stevenage – Video

I love this clever campaign from Burger King after they decided to sponsor Stevenage FC in the real world because the team would appear in the computer game Fifa alongside the big teams. So they then created an online challenge to get people to get their own Stevenage team to be brilliant and buy the best players – in other words getting visibility on their brand. What a great idea for a relatively low budget. The whole campaign is wrapped up in a clever social media video. The bumf says: Brands pay millions to get soccer’s biggest players to endorse ... Video Paid Social Driven By AI

I have had a busy few weeks sorting a number of new team members out and adding a variety of new bits of software to our arsenal. One thing I really wanted to do was get involved in AI-driven paid social. We have been delivering paid social campaigns since organic social decided to take a huge dip and Mr Zuckerberg’s wallet starting getting fatter. I have always said that I felt advertising is driven by numbers first then creativity and I wanted a robot to delve into the numbers and then me and my team could use that to drive ... Read more

B2B Content Marketing in Practice – Case Study

My team are delivering some truly excellent content marketing work at the moment for some brilliant clients and one that has sprung to mind is our lovely B2B client Nexus Leeds. Nexus Leeds is based in the University of Leeds campus and helps start-up businesses innovate to develop and scale. They are a fantastic organisation that really helps entrepreneurs to do the things they want to do. You may have seen I spoke at one of their events a few weeks ago. We very recently helped Nexus Leeds conduct a survey with more than 100 companies to understand more about ... Read more

Stillness has been my key – book review

A couple of weeks ago I was speaking to a good friend of mine, who also happens to be my little boys’ football coach Simon Clifford. Simon is a brilliant football coach and has been helping my boys develop their football skills for a number of years now and he is doing a PHD in Sports Science as such he reads a lot. However, rather than focus on their development this time he wanted to give me a little bit of friendly advice which I am never averse too. He said if there was one book that I had to ... Read more

Event alert: Preparing your marketing plan for the “second wave”

I am delighted to announce that I will be speaking (along with a number of other people) at the Nexus Lunch and Learn event on 19th November. Nexus is a relatively new client of ours, it is based at the University of Leeds and helps to innovative businesses. We are delighted to be working with them and during our campaign, they asked if we would come along to one of their sessions and share our expertise with the members and the wider business community. I am really looking forward to sharing my thoughts on all things digital. If you have ... Read more

Our Yorkshire Day Campaign Despite Covid19

In August my team and I worked on an exciting PR campaign that helped support a local charity that does some great work in the region called Yorkshire Cancer Research. It is very local to me as it based in my home town of Harrogate but the charity is great and delivers some life-changing work and we worked together to help raise of awareness of the great work it does. My team and I helped with its annual ‘Give it Some Welly’ campaign. This year has been a little different due to Covid19 and we had to plan accordingly. So ... Read more

The Social Distancing Teapot

I love this video, we surely all needed something to cheer us up at the moment and this clip from the brilliant brand Yorkshire Tea has found a solution to delivering the new tea rounds. Ladies and gentlemen take a glimpse at the first-ever social distancing teapot. My team and I have just started coming back to the office since lockdown and this is something we have discussed but sadly I don’t think this was the answer we were looking for. Great work by the Yorkshire Tea team – I do love an amusing clip from time to time.

The changing history of social media (infographic)

Back in 2017, I created a social media timeline Infographic for my Agency and it appeared to go down really well with loads of people sharing it and discussing the different channels that had been, thrived and gone. However, that was more than three years ago and in social media terms, three months is long enough. So I thought I would revisit it and update the timeline for 2020. New social platforms for new generations It appears that every generation wants its own social channel. We had Friends ReUnited, then MySpace, then we had Facebook. We then moved to Snapchat ... The making of TikTok’s New TV Advert – created whilst on Lockdown

This clip shows the making of TikTok’s first TV advert featuring Gordon Ramsey and many others. It has all been filmed on lockdown over 26 days and shows how creative you can get with the platform. We are going to be seeing more and more of this as the once niche platform moves from being a fun viral Vine alternative to a more serious video content player and an overall YouTube competitor. I expect the content areas to become more serious and structured over the next 12-18 months. The recent announcement of its education move is just the beginning of ... Read more

Film Production in a post Covid19 World

Well to say the last few months have been busy is the world’s biggest understatement. Like the rest of the world, I have been getting used to working from home and trying to keep my business operating as close to normal as possible. It is a fine balance that we have all had to work on and some days I am taking it hour by hour. My team though have been really busy pressing on delivering amazing campaigns and even filming new videos for how some of our amazing retail clients can go back to serving customers safely. For instance, ... Read more
