My top 25 tracks for a Friday afternoon

One of my favourite journalist bloggers Sally Whittle has tagged Jed, Louise and I. She has challenged us to share our top 25 tracks for a Friday afternoon. Now I have to say I found this really difficult as there is so much good music out there and I have quite an eclectic taste – so to get it all into 25 tracks is quite a challenge. Unfortunately, S-Club and the Fast Food Rockers didn’t make it in this time – sorry Sally. I have added most of these to my a playlist on Spotify, so if you have Spotify on ... Read more

Analyse your swearing on Twitter using Cursebird

Do you swear on Twitter? If you do, why not use this new service to find out how often? Cursebird is hilarious, we have been testing it out in the office today. Insert your Twitter name and it tells you how much you have sworn on Twitter. Unfortunately, as you all know I am an angel (Joke) and so I have never sworn on Twitter. However, my colourful friend Mr @JEDHALLAM likes to Tweet when he has been drinking. In fact, when we ran his name through this site he came out as a Gangsta Rapper – see below. I ... Read more

Amusing viral: New Apple Wheel MacBook – with no Keyboard!

Here is another entertaining viral, which has been created by The Onion an online satirical newspaper. The clip is basically about Apple launching the Apple Wheel MacBook a brilliant invention that replaces the keyboard making emails take only 45 mins each. My favourite comments from this video are: “Everything is just a few hundred clicks away!” “It remains to be seen if the wheel will catch on in the business world where people use computers for actual work and not just dicking around.”

Another clever viral from Disney

Viral videos have got to have something intrinsically clever, entertaining or interesting to make them go viral in the first place. Following in a similar vain to the recent US election viral that I shared, here is another really clever example which focuses on Disney renaming its park for one special day.

Are creative people really full of juice?

Stephen Waddington has posted a brilliant viral video on his blog this morning which I thought had to be shared as it made me laugh. A viral agency called Rubber Republic has made the video below demonstrating the South West’s capabilities in being creative. I think it’s a really clever idea which has been brilliantly executed. See what you think.

Facebook announces a new and different approach

Facebook has revealed a new crazier style of social networking. The company is taking a new door-to-door approach which appears to be achieving some interesting results. To be honest I had to share this after seeing it on the Bivings Report a while ago – it is genius.

Fantastic execution of a viral video

I was just finishing this post when I noticed my colleague Stuart had beaten me to the chase but I think this video is that good it’s worth both of us posting about it. This is a great example of a campaign viral video – in our opinion the best yet. The US elections always seem to uncover brilliant new methods of marketing and this certainly follows in that mould.

My wet trip to the coast

Warning this is not a PR related post! You may have noticed I haven’t posted for a week or so – well that’s because I have been away on holiday to the coast. I managed to drag myself away from Wolfstar for a few days and took my little boy and wife away with some friends. It didn’t exactly go to plan, so here are my seven things not to do on your holiday to help you avoid the same mishaps. Don’t book your holiday on the wettest day of the year Don’t travel to the wettest place in the ... Read more

How not to do media relations – a quick example

Here is a quick story which might interest you. Hartlepool FC has decided (for commercial reasons apparently) to ban all photographers and reporters from its local paper the Hartlepool Mail. In response to this the Northern Echo, which covers most of the North East of England, thought it would help its local friend out by providing pictures and a review of the latest game. Hartlepool FC then kindly decided to ban it as well. I don’t know about you but I think this is rather daft as there will be only one winner here and it’s not going to be ... Read more

Viral Guinness video causing a stir

It seems Guinness’ marketing team isn’t too happy about a spoof viral video which has appeared on YouTube. The video, which has received more than (29,000) views, at the time of writing, seems to suggest share a drink whilst being involved in extra curricular (group sex) activities. Now I have checked this out (to see what all the fuss is about) and the one thing that comes across to me is this lady is very  good at balancing inanimate objects – Joke. Seriously though, this seems to be a joke viral video which is being shared because – as with ... Read more
