Leeds and Yorkshire PR Agencies to battle in charity pub quiz

Yes unbelievably it’s that time again and it’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a year, but somehow I have managed to organise our annual charity CIPR Pub Quiz, in the memory of my old friend and former YEP journalist Nigel Scott.

I am hoping to get this event packed out again with people from all across the Yorkshire media sector. If I am honest I am quite proud to say that this is the third year we have done and each year it has been completely sold out, so we have a lot to live up to. Recession what recession? Get your hands in your pockets as its all for a good cause.

In case you didn’t know Nigel was the former business editor at the Yorkshire Evening Post and sadly died of cancer back in 2009.  So for the last two years I have helped organise a fun quiz event which invites Leeds PR agencies, freelancers and in-house PRs from across the region to battle it out with people from the Yorkshire media.

Last year we had more than 120 people attending, and a fund of more than £2,000 was raised, for our chosen charities which were the Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract and Macmillan Cancer Support. These charitie3s helped Nigel in his final days and Nigel’s close family also attended last year, so we will look forward to inviting them back again this year too.

So make sure you place Thursday 4th October in your diary. The proceedings will kick off in the early evening. Tickets are priced at £20 per person, which goes towards the cost of the food – supplied by the award winning James Martin restaurant – and the rest of the proceeds will go to the chosen charities. You have the option to book a table for ten for your group, or a spot just for yourself.

Unfortunately as a team my guys have never won the quiz, but the Prohibition team will be swatting up for success at this year’s event. It would be great to see some new faces this year so why not book yourself a place now: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/3612307509/eorg?ebtv=C

If you can’t make it, please can you share this story on your social networks as it’s all for a great cause.

Many thanks

Chris
