My Top Ten Favourite Foodie Campaigns

Nothing feeds our ravenous cravings for creative PR stunts quite like a good old foodie campaign. Whether it’s giving away a freebie or doing something eye-catchingly different, campaigns are a great way to get customers involved whilst also boosting sales. Feed your appetite (sorry couldn’t resist) on my chosen top ten social media foodie campaigns of brands whose eyes were bigger than their bellies. 1. Government crisis: Watch out for typos they could cost you £9million

In the news this week the tiny difference between ‘Taylor & Sons Ltd’ and ‘Taylor & Son Ltd’ has ended up costing our Government £9 million – so I guess that’s me and you too. Yes the Government had a major crisis on its hands after a typo – albeit a very important one – cost the taxpayer a sum of £8.8m because it resulted in 250 workers sadly becoming unemployed. The high court has ruled that Taylor & Sons will be awarded the hefty sum after a civil servant had mistaken the firm for the actual liquidised Taylor & Son. ... Read more

The world’s first interactive DJ Album cover

I love this and had to share it as it combines my two big loves technology and DJing. Novalia worked with DJ Qbert to create the world’s first interactive DJ Decks in an album cover. The cover comes complete with two decks, a cross fader and an array of SFX buttons printed directly onto paper using printed electronics and artwork. QBert’s Kickstarter ... Read more

Is the BBC’s “The Voice” just a PR platform for the judges?

Celebrity judge and pop music sensation Will.I.Am (although I am not a huge fan of his voice) raised the question of how BBC talent show, “The Voice” need to make the winners into winners. With its latest series airing last Saturday, new celebrity judge Rita Ora managed to bring in more than eight million viewers- the largest audience for the opening episode of any series so far, which is a good start but why are people tuning in? Is it for the acts or is it simply for the coaches themselves? It all started in 2012, “The Voice” is now ... Read more

Crisis Management: Airasia Crisis Takes To Twitter

The CEO of Air Asia and owner of QPR Tony Fernandes faced his biggest challenge last month when an Airasia flight was sadly reported missing. On December 28th at 7:24 hours Airasia reported the QZ8501 flight from Surabaya to Singapore had lost contact. Updates were shared with the media throughout the day and just two days later unfortunately it was reported that the aircraft had crashed over the Java Sea and some debris had already been found. With more than a hundred passengers and crew on board Fernandes was forced into the front seat as Indonesia was seen to depend ... Read more
