Speaking on the Future of Social Media at Leeds Business Week

This is just a quick note to let you know that tomorrow I will be speaking on The future of the social web taking a part in a panel discussion. I have been speaking at a few events recently and this one should be interesting as it will include all of the Yorkshire authors from the Share This Too book I helped with.

If this passed you by and you are are interested in coming along I believe there are still a few tickets available at: https://leedsbizweek.com/events/view/119/sharing-the-future-of-the-social-web

Here’s the bumf:

Panel session 4-6pm

Social media is fundamentally disrupting how organisations and individuals need to behave in order to survive and succeed. The CIPR Yorkshire & Lincolnshire’s ‘Sharing the future of the social web’ event is an opportunity for the region’s private, public and third sector professionals to get together to discuss how business and everyday communications needs to evolve for the digital age. It will be in the format of a panel discussion based around the content of the CIPR’s soon-to-be-released ‘Share This Too’ book (the follow-up to ‘Share This’ which has become a best-selling handbook for professional practice).

The panel will consist of contributors to the book from the region including Head of Social Media at ASDA Walmart Dom Burch, international speaker and trainer Stuart Bruce and Chris Norton Founder of Prohibition plus Helen Gill, Founding Director of Engage Comms Ltd and CIPR regional committee member. It will be chaired by Justin McKeown, Founder of Mission Agency Ltd and will give the audience the opportunity to ask industry experts what the future holds and act as a forum for debate amongst professionals from different sectors and specialisms.

During the hour prior to the panel session, there will be a series of surgery-style ‘working group’ sessions on different topics for those with specific business problems relating to social media and digital communications more generally.

I think the best bit is people will be able to ask questions of the panel on things that intest them in terms of business objectives and social media. If you have a question for the panel please feel free to leave a comment or tweet me.
