My week in the media – Chris Norton

My esteemed colleague Mr Stuart Bruce has tagged me (AGAIN) with the ‘My week in the media’ meme. So I feel obliged to list out what I have been up to so here goes:

What I’ve read

To be honest I like to break it up a bit and read several newspapers in one week, so I know what’s going on in the various publications but the ones I read regularly are The Times, Yorkshire Post, Metro, Yorkshire Evening Post, The Harrogate Herald and The Sun (due to the sport section).

Magazines that I enjoy to flick through include DJ Magazine, FHM, my wife’s copy of Heat gets the occasional viewing, Yorkshire Business Insider, Marketing, PR Week and loads more.

What I’ve watched

This is more difficult as I don’t get a huge amount of time for television at the moment but I always catch BBC News at ten, BBC Breakfast and some serious high brow viewing of Eastenders.

I also went to watch the new Will Smith film ‘I AM Legend’ on Saturday night. Now many of my friends have either loved it or hated it. I think the filming in New York with nobody around must have taken some real organising and was very effective but I thought the ending was too short and a bit rubbish but I won’t ruin it for you if you haven’t seen it.

Following Stuart’s recommendations I popped out this lunchtime and bought a DTV recorder and I will post about that soon once I give it a whirl.

What I’ve listened to

I regularly listen to Mr Moyles’ breakfast show on Radio 1 and I like to listen to Peter Allen on the way home as I think Five Live Drive has a good blend of news and sport. I occasionally listen to Talksport if I know there is a good sports story out on that particular day.

Where I’ve surfed

Blimey, this is a difficult one as I subscribe to so many blogs and visit a plethora of sites on a daily basis as this is what my day job is based around. OK, if I am forced, my top few would be The Guardian, BBC News, Problogger, Copyblogger and Brand Republic. There are hundreds more but I don’t think you want to hear them all.
