Over the last few weeks I have been working on an online campaign to help promote the joy of reading for my client Ultralase. As part of the campaign we have launched the Great Book Migration by leaving 100 books, from various genres and authors all around the country. These have been left anywhere interesting from large international airports through to local park benches and we are tracking the books using a number of methods including using the hashtag #bookmigrate.
I find this campaign rather interesting to see if people will tell us where they found and left the books. I am genuinely excited to see how far one can travel.
All of the official books have been left in public places across the UK. Each book has a distinct ‘Read Me’ label attached to its cover and will contain a unique number inside, along with instructions on how to enter the migration. Titles vary from horrors such as Dracula to classics such as Little Women so keep your eyes peeled!
How do I take part in the migration?
If you are lucky enough to have found one of these books, you are kindly invited to tell us which book you found, where you found it and where you left it. These are set details we need but feel free leave more detail if you want. In return, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to receive one of 10 £10 Amazon vouchers!
The campaign has just started but already we have had a number of tweets and comments from people finding books all over the country. If you would like to get involved and help send a book on its travels drop me a line on Twitter as we might have a book or two going spare. If you are a blogger, please could you drop me a link to your blog too, so we can figure out which book you would prefer.
